Attic Fire in Mansion

A fast moving fire in a large  home in Henderson, Nevada kept companies busy this week.

“We had eight full crews that were on scene, that were working,” says Henderson Fire Chief Jeff Lytle.

With help from the Clark County Fire Department, Henderson firefighters worked hard to keep the flames from spreading to neighboring homes.

“The fire did get into the attic and our first arriving units there attempted to make an aggressive interior attack,” Chief Lytle continues.

Crews worked from the outside as well as above until only a charred skeleton of a home remained.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the house fire but believe it may have accidentally started in an area where electrical work was underway.

Fire damage is estimated on the structure and contents at $1.2 million. One firefighter received a minor injury but there were no injuries to civilians
